Afrotropical: 1) South Africa, 2) Zimbabwe ( Norval 1985c, Horak et al. 2018).

Horak et al. (2018) found that several records of Haemaphysalis hyracophila in Theiler (1962) in fact represented Haemaphysalis cooleyi .
