Afrotropical: 1) South Africa ( Walker 1991, Horak et al. 2018).

Bequaert (1932b) stated that authors such as D ö nitz (1909) and Robinson (1926) used the name Amblyomma latum ( Koch, 1844a) for Hyalomma latum Koch, 1844a , but, in fact, these authors were describing Amblyomma sylvaticum .
