Remote islands: 1) Pacific Ocean Islands (central) of Phoenix, 2) Pacific Ocean Island (south) of Curtis (Kohls 1966, Heath et al. 2011).
Camicas et al. (1998) stated that Ixodes amersoni (under the name Scaphixodes amersoni ) is an Australasian tick, but the range of this species is outside the Australasian Zoogeographic Region (Guglielmone et al. 2014), although Curtis Island, where Ixodes amersoni is established, belongs to New Zealand.
