Description of Rhizobium alvei CBA 7506

Cells are facultative anaerobic, Gram-stain-negative, non-pigmented, and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, convex, and curled after incubation for three days on DSMZ medium No. 311c at 25℃. Positive for esculin hydrolysis and β -galactosidase activity. Negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease, and gelatinase activity. Does not utilize D- glucose, L- arabinose, D- mannose, D- mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, potassium gluconate, D- maltose, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. Strain CBA7506 (= NNIBR2019644BA7) was isolated from a freshwater sample, Buyeo-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, Korea.
