Description of Paenibacillus riograndensis CBA View in CoL 7516
Cells are facultative anaerobic, Gram-stain-positive, non-pigmented, and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, convex, and entire after incubation for three days on DSMZ medium No. 1451 at 15℃. Positive for glucose fermentation, esculin hydrolysis, and β -galactosidase activity. Negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, arginine dihydrolase, urease, and gelatinase. Utilizes L- arabinose, N -acetyl-glucosamine, potassium gluconate, and D- maltose. Does not utilize D- glucose, D- mannose, D- mannitol, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. Strain CBA7516 (= NNIBR2019644BA16) was isolated from a sediment sample, Dong-gu, Daejeon, Korea.
