Type locality. South China Sea ( Liu & Wang 1986) .
Record from Thailand. South-eastern Andaman Sea, next to Phuket Island ( Fukuoka & Murano 2002).
Habitat and depth. Marine, depth: 75 m ( Fukuoka & Murano 2002) .
Distribution. This species is distributed from the South China Sea ( Liu & Wang 1986) to the Andaman Sea ( Fukuoka & Murano 2002)
Remarks. The species name monospinosa is unacceptable due to the incorrect gender ending, therefore, the valid name of the species is monospinosus ( Mees & Meland 2022e) .
