– Filaments medium to light green, monopodially branched, no descending rhizoids sprouting from the base of the cells, short hapteroidal rhizoids present throughout the thallus; apical cells 60–120 mm in diameter......... C. sundanensis

Ecology. Epilithic in the intertidal as well as on the slope of a tide channel of the lagoon, 2 m deep.

Distribution. Australia, Malaysia, Rodrigues (this paper), Seychelles, Somalia, South Africa.
