Syntype localities. Various in Indonesia , including Solor and Semau. Voucher. HEC 14673 (zF), 19 September 2001, Gravier (s.s. 16). Ecology. Horizontal, sand-covered rock substratum in the intertidal. Distribution. Aldabra Islands, Diego Garcia Atoll , India, Indonesia (Java) ,
Kenya, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius ( Børgesen, 1940: 21; 1946: 15), Réunion
( Payri, 1985: 640), Rodrigues (this paper), Seychelles, Singapore, Somalia,
Tanzania, Thailand.
General remarks on the distribution of Cladophoropsis in the Mascarene Islands
Cladophoropsis herpestica has not been reported from Mauritius but C. javanica (Kützing) Silva mentioned from that island ( Børgesen, 1946: 15 ~ C. zollingeri (Kützing) Reinbold ) was not collected on Rodrigues.
