Male
Our material is in accordance with Malloch’s description and type material deposited in the British Museum. In some specimens there is variation in the extension of black colouration, with more yellow at the sides of tergite I and the legs.

Chile: Chiloe´ , Castro , Holotype and paratype males, ( BM); Llanquihue, Parque Nacional Alerce Andino, 18-XII-1999: two males, coll. Ch. González ( IEUM) ;
Distribution
Chile: Chiloe´, Llanquihue.
Discussion
Closest species are Atherimorpha scutellaris and A. claripennis (Philippi) , but differ by the yellowish abdominal tergites and legs.
