TYPE SPECIES. Fidicina aper Walker 1850: 87 View in CoL . ( Cayenne , French Guiana)

REMARKS. Species of Majeorona are distinguished by a head width that is wider than the mesonotum, with stylate, prominent eyes that extend anteriorly, a pronotum that is shorter than the mesonotum, and timbal covers that are not concave dorsally.

DISTRIBUTION. Species of the genus have been reported from Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and Peru ( Metcalf 1963a; Duffels & van der Laan 1985; Sanborn 2011a; 2013; 2014a; 2018c; Sanborn & Maes 2012; Maes et al. 2012). The new record reported here is a southern extension of the known range for the genus.
