Genus Protoliupanshania gen. nov.
Derivation of name. This name is a combination of the Greek word protos, for its inclusive position in the family, combined with Liupanshania , a related genus. Gender feminine.
Type species. Protoliupanshania wangi gen. nov., sp. nov. by present designation.
Diagnosis. Both pairs of wings with a strong convex trigonal planate; a strong angle of MAb in hind wing; elongate and narrow hind wing T; forewing T broad and nearly equilateral; distal accessory oblique vein between RP 2 and IR2 secondarily absent; no Rspl; no Mspl; hind wing MAb weakly sigmoidally curved; all T free; subdiscoidal space large and broad.
