Oomtelecopon new genus

Type species: Oomtelecopon setosum new species.

Diagnosis. Recognized by the combination of the elevated eyes, the frons with a deep median fovea surrounded by an anteromedial and two lateral callosities (Fig. 53), the prominent setose callosity in front of each eye, the nonwidened eighth elytral interval, the strongly setose dorsum, the nonspinose last tergite of females, and the sparsely setose venter.

Description. Body size ca. 2.20 to 2.90 mm, form oblong, transversely convex. Antennomeres 11 (6 + 5); 1st and 2nd elongate, 2nd slightly shorter than 1st; 3rd to 6th very small; club with last two articles tightly joined, connate, other articles less tightly joined. Eyes large and elevated above deeply foveate frons. Frons with very large setose callosity in front of each eye. Anterior margin of clypeus in frontal view straight. Labrum vertical, not sexually dimorphic. Maxillary palpus very short, much shorter than antenna, length ratios of last three palpomeres subequal, penultimate ovoid, much wider than ultimate. Mentum angulate on sides, widest near midlength, with pair of depressions, anterior margin slightly produced at middle. Genae produced as ridges that interlock with anterior margin of prosternum; laterally genae with distinct sulcus for reception of antenna.

Dorsum markedly setose. Pronotum with convex disc with setose callosity on each side of median sulcus; hyaline borders absent; anterior margin markedly emarginate to receive posterior margin of eyes; lateral margins strongly setose; posterior margin slightly produced in middle.

Elytra with 9th and 10th rows apparent only anteriorly, merged to form one row for most of length. Serial punctures each with granule at anterior margin, granules elongate and separating serial punctures, each granule bearing long, very slender bifurcate seta. Even numbered intervals with setose callosities.

Prosternum with procoxae separated by intercoxal process, process weakly widened behind, joining but not interlocking with postcoxal process; prosternum anterior to coxae short, flat, without median carina. Mesosternum with small pentagonal intercoxal process. Metasternum strongly punctate, with Yshaped or Tshaped carina in nonpunctate lateral depression (Fig. 54). Abdomen strongly sclerotized, deeply grooved between ventrites; intercoxal sternite very thin, hidden beneath strongly sclerotized first ventrite. Females without spines on last tergite.
