= Eugenia lanceolata Lamarck (1789: 200–201) View in CoL . Type: “Cette plante croȋt dans les Indes orientales.” Lectotype (designated here): Sonnerat s.n. (P! [barcode P00297768]).
Distribution:— India [Kerala, Tamil Nadu].
Notes:—No type specimen was designated by Lamarck (1789) and the only specimen (barcode P05258473) of Eugenia lanceolata in Lamarck’s herbarium in Paris is a Sonnerat collection, which we here designate as the lectotype. The affinities of Syzygium lanceolatum are discussed further under the account of S yzygium wightianum Wallich ex Wight & Arnott (1834: 330) .
