Material examined. None.

Distribution. Western Atlantic—Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul), Uruguay, and Argentina ( Righi 1967; Melo 1996, 1998).

Remarks. Previous records on the coast of São Paulo include São Sebastião (Palacios-Theil et al. 2009, 2016). Recently, Palacios-Theil & Felder (2020) erected new genera to receive some Pinnixa species. In the proposed classification, the species P. rapax was assigned to the new genus Tubicolixa based on the analysis of some specimens including a specimen from São Sebastião, São Paulo. Sequence accession number (GenBank): ULLZ 5568—16S ( EU934959 View Materials ) (Palacios-Theil et al. 2009).
