Material examined. BRAZIL. Pará: Belém, Research Campus of Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi , 1°27’06.5”S 48°26’38.8”W, 10.IX.2013, leg. F.S. Carvalho-Filho, reared from pupae (aggregation of cocoons) of Saturniidae (1 male and 1 specimen without abdomen); GoogleMaps Parauapebas, Carajás, Serra Norte, N 1- Canga, 25–28.X.1985, leg. J. Dias, suspended trap at a height of 1,6 meters GoogleMaps .
Distribution. Brazil (Pará), Panama (Canal Zone).
Natural history. Two analysed specimens were obtained from a large cocoon containing many pupae of Hylesia Hübner ( Saturniidae ) moth found in the wall of an abandoned building in the border of a secondary forest ( Fig. 16C View FIGURE 16 ). The type-specimens were reared from spider eggs ( Hall 1937), evidencing that it utilizes a variety of host species from different orders and developing stages, as previously documented for other species of Pseudogaurax (Banes et al. 1992) .
Remarks. This species has been recorded only for the type-locality in the Panama ( Sabrosky & Paganelli 1984). Therefore, this is a new record from Brazil.
