Etymology

Johnson ms name, after the collector Fritz Plaumann.

Description

SIZE. Habitus ( Fig. 79A View Fig ), length 0.59 mm.

COLOUR. Yellow brown, antennae, legs and pubescence yellow. HEAD. Antennomeres III–XI length 0.32 mm, III–IX length 0.18 mm, X–XI length 0.14 mm; width across eyes 0.19 mm; mentum as Fig. 4A. View Fig

PRONOTUM. Length 0.17 mm, width 0.24 mm, pubescent, the setal insertion points slightly raised, without foveae and foveolae; lateral margins rounded to hind angles, bordered, the border rectangular at the hind angles and continued for a short distance along the hind margin then recursive, medial emargination opposite scutellum clearly defined ( Fig. 79B View Fig ).

ELYTRA. Length 0.37 mm, width 0.33 mm pubescent as pronotum.

MESOVENTRITE. Collar with a parallel-sided median extension; mid-keel narrow, parallel-sided, without anterior and posterior projections; keel very narrow tapering to a sharp point just below the interruption point of the mesocoxal margins; mesoventral lateral margins without serrations, humeri with large teeth ( Fig. 79C View Fig ).

METAVENTRITE. Sparsely pubescent, disc simple, length 0.13 mm, width between spines 0.08 mm, spines long, sharply pointed ( Fig. 7B View Fig ); mesocoxal posterior margins not serrate. WINGS. Macropterous.

GENITALIA. Male aedeagus as Fig. 6 View Fig Fa–b; female spermatheca globular.

Remarks

Distinguished from the other species of Cissidium from Brazil in this group by the recursive terminations of the posterior borders of the pronotum.
