Diagnosis. Dilophotes atrorufus is the only Japanese species with serrate antennae in the male and has a characteristic slightly curved apical part of phallus and a smaller but well sclerotized internals sac ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 3 13 ). Although the upper and lower plates of internal sac are not distinctly separated, the species is placed in the D. atricollis group.
Description. Body medium sized, slender, black. Pronotum black with brown pubescence, elytra slender with reddish brown pubescence. Head with short rostrum. Eyes small, interocular distance 1.63 times maximum eye diameter. Antennae serrate, considerably flattened. Maxillary palpi slender. Pronotum 1.4 times wider than long, frontal margin slightly emarginate anteriorly, anterior angles distinct, lateral margins slightly concave, posterior angles projected. Pronotal disc with sharp costa reaching slightly beyond middle of pronotal disc. Scutellum simply rounded apically. Each elytron with three longitudinal costae, costa 1 inconspicuous in apical half. Male genitalia slender, long, phallus distinctly curved apically, internal sac complex, sclerotized, upper and lower plates fused ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 3 13 ).
Measurements. BL 9.0 mm, WH 1.98 mm, PL 1.21 mm, PW 1.65 mm, Ediam 0.40 mm, Edist 0.65 mm.

Distribution. Dilophotes atrorufus is endemic to Japan.
