Dilophotes ohirai ( Ohbayashi, 1956) , comb. n.

Stenolycus ohirai Ohbayashi, 1956: 58 .

Diagnosis. Dilophotes ohirai is the only Japanese species with flabellate male antennae and red pubescence of pronotum. It reminds D. atrorufus in general appearance but the male genitalia differs substantially by very short phallus. D. vandykei does not have red pubescence on pronotum and its phallus is slender.

Redescription of male. Body small, slender, black to dark brown, covered with dark fine pubescence, only pronotum red and sometimes humeri with reddish pubescence. Head small, transverse, moderately shining. Interocular distance 1.72 times maximum eye diameter. Antennae flabellate from antennomere 3, lamella of antennomere 3 as long as trunk of antennomere, lamellae of subsequent antennomeres twice or more longer than trunks of corresponding antennomeres. Maxillary palpi slender, apical palpomere almost parallelsided, bearing membranous processes apically. Pronotum wider than long, infuscate medially, hind angles acutely projected, frontal margin weakly rounded. Frontal keel reaching slightly beyond middle. Elytra almost parallelsided, slightly widen posteriorly, surface thickly, rugosely punctured. Three longitudinal costae on each elytron, costa one the shortest and weakest. Legs long, slender. Male genitalia short, phallus resembling rolled leaf, widened in middle, internal sac membranous.

Measurements. BL 7.3 mm, WH 1.74 mm, PL 0.88 mm, PW 1.50 mm, Ediam 0.32 mm, Edist 0.56 mm.

Material examined. 1 male, "Higashimatasawa, Kawakamimura, Nagano, 21.vii. 1980, K. Emoto ( KMCK).

Distribution. Dilophotes ohirai is endemic to Japan (Honshu).

Remark. The reason for new generic placement was given in the introduction.
