Lacronia View in CoL : Kury 2003a: 174, 2003b: 29; Kury & Orrico 2006: 148; Carvalho & Kury, 2023: 23.

Type species. Luederwaldtia serripes Mello-Leitão, 1923 View in CoL , by original designation.

Included species. Lacronia boraceae (B. Soares, 1942) View in CoL , Lacronia camboriu Kury, 2003 View in CoL , Lacronia ceci Kury & Orrico, 2006 View in CoL , Lacronia nigra ( Mello-Leitão, 1923) View in CoL , Lacronia ricardoi Kury, 2003 View in CoL , Lacronia serripes ( Mello-Leitão, 1923) View in CoL , Lacronia tenuis ( Roewer, 1917) View in CoL and Lacronia utaru sp. nov.

Diagnosis. As the inclusion of Lacronia utaru sp. nov. does not affect the generic diagnosis presented by Carvalho & Kury (2023a), it is repeated here without change. Lacronia resembles Discocyrtus s. str. in: a) stylus straight on the glans ( Figs. 5A–B View FIGURE 5 ); b) apical portion of the stylus only as an undifferentiated extension of its stem ( Figs. 5A–B View FIGURE 5 ); c) ventral process of the glans with the same diameter of the stylus ( Fig. 5B View FIGURE 5 ); d) ocularium height (in lateral view) equals thrice or more the eyes diameter ( Figs. 3C View FIGURE 3 , 4B–C View FIGURE 4 ); e) Fe II–III with a retro-dorsal distal spur ( Figs. 2A View FIGURE 2 , 3A View FIGURE 3 , 4D View FIGURE 4 ); f) Pa IV covered by acuminated tubercles on the dorsal side ( Figs. 3D View FIGURE 3 , 4G–H, J View FIGURE 4 ).

Lacronia can be differentiated from Discocyrtus s. str. by the following features: a) mesotergum area III on males with a pair of paramedian spines (a pair of subconical structures in L. ceci ) ( Figs. 3A, C–D View FIGURE 3 , 4A–B, E View FIGURE 4 ) (in Discocyrtus it has a pair of paramedian domes); b) mesotergum area IV of the AS not invading the posterior border of the DS (area IV invading the posterior border of the dorsal scutum in L. boraceae ) ( Figs 2A View FIGURE 2 , 3A View FIGURE 3 , 4A View FIGURE 4 ) (in Discocyrtus only the median portion of the posterior border of the dorsal scutum penetrates area IV); c) Ti III mace-shaped ( Figs. 2A–D View FIGURE 2 , 3A–B View FIGURE 3 , 4D View FIGURE 4 ) (in Discocyrtus it is tubular); d) Cx IV with acuminated tubercles on the prolateral surface ( Fig. 4A View FIGURE 4 ) (in Discocyrtus they are blunt); e) Cx IV with a prodorsal apophysis crenated on the posterior portion ( Figs. 3A–B View FIGURE 3 , 4A, F–G View FIGURE 4 ) (in Discocyrtus the apophysis is smooth); f) Cx IV with prodorsal apophysis transversally arranged in relation to the body axis ( Figs. 2A View FIGURE 2 , 3A View FIGURE 3 , 4A View FIGURE 4 ) (in Discocyrtus it is oblique); g) Tr IV subquadrangular-shaped ( Figs. 3A–B View FIGURE 3 , 4A, G–J View FIGURE 4 ) (in Discocyrtus it is rectangular); h) Fe IV substraight in dorsal view ( Figs 2A–B View FIGURE 2 , 3A–C View FIGURE 3 , 4G–J View FIGURE 4 ) (in Discocyrtus it is arched).
