Current valid name: Piliocolobus foai (de Pousargues, 1899) View in CoL

Holotype: ZMB 32761/32762 (= A 11a,08,1033), male, subadult, skull, skin [could not be found in the collections]; “zwischen Beni und Irumu, Ituri” [between Beni and Irumu in the Ituri province], Democratic Republic of the Congo; collected by Herzog Adolf Friedrich zu Mecklenburg, March 1908.

Comment: Matschie (1914) described this subspecies using a single specimen [A 11a,08,1033 = ZMB 32761/32762]. Further twelve specimens ZMB 32763–32783, skulls and skins, were also collected by Herzog Adolf Friedrich zu Mecklenburg between Beni and Irumu in March 1908. However, Matschie (1914) did not mention them in the description, so they cannot be classified as paratypes.
