Valid name: Gorilla gorilla gorilla (Savage & Wyman, 1847) View in CoL

Holotype: ZMB 17961 , male, adult, mounted skin, skull ( ZMB 17960 ); “auf der Strasse von Assobam zwischen Mensima und Bimba südlich vom Dume-Flusse westlich von Mokbe erlegt” [present name for Assobam and Mokbe could not be found, type locality is assumed south of Bimba at the Doume River ], Cameroon; collected by Peter Scheunemann, 27 January 1907, donated by Prof. Hans Meyer (Leipzig).
