Holotype: ZMB 83867 (skin) / ZMB 83716 (= A 60.05,1, skeleton), male, adult; “ Bascho Nordkamerun ” [Basho, N Cameroon]; collected by von Oertzen, 1905.

Paratypes: ZMB 83607 , skin; ZMB 83649 , skin; ZMB 83817 , skin; ZMB 83642 , skin; ZMB 83647 , skin [missing], Daten; Kentu at Donga [ Donga river ], Nigeria / Cameroon, collected by Adametz 1907–1909.

Comment:According to Matschie (1914, p.328), the skull of the holotype was Hauptmann von Oertzen's private property. Its current whereabouts are unknown.
