Petrimordella smithiana ( Wickham, 1913) comb. nov.
Mordellistena smithiana Wickham, 1913:21 . Holotype: Middle Eocene , Florissant Formation, Colorado, USA.
Comments on the original description. No informative characters were described, except for measurements and the shape of body. It is proposed that ‘Legs wanting, except a small portion of one of the hind pair that shows no characters of importance.’ As the presence and numbers of combs on metatibia and metatarsomeres are essential for identification of Mordellistenini , the tribal placement of this fossil is doubtful.
