Diagnosis. This species is superficially most similar to Pterotopteryx dodecadactyla (Hübner) which is distributed in Europe. It differs from the latter by the welldeveloped medial and subterminal fascia of the forewing.

Description. Adult. Head ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 2 – 5 ) with whitish cream scales. Labial palpus densely scaled, pale whitish; 2nd segment as long as horizontal diameter of compound eye with somewhat dark brownish gray scales; 3rd segment narrow, short, ca. 0.6 times as long as horizontal diameter of compound eye, pale whitish gray, dark brown in basal half. Thorax ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 2 – 5 ) whitish gray. Wingspan 11–14 mm. Forewing whitish ashgray; 1st lobe rather thick, dark grayish brown at base, with seven small slender spots along costa; spot I close to II near the point of branching between 1st and 2nd cleft; spot III close to IV before middle; spot V on middle, rather wide, more than 2 times as long as the former; spot VI small, trapezoidal, subapical; spot VII on apex, slender, rather wide; medial fascia on 2nd–6th lobes located at the level of costal spot V, as long as costal spot V, rather wide and distinct, with a slender whitish line in outer margin; subterminal spots on 2nd –6th lobes under gap of costal spot VI–VII, rather wider and longer that the costal spot VII. Hindwing similar to forewing in coloration and pattern, medial fascia rather distinct and well defined. Male unknown.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 8 – 9 ). Papilla analis subtriangular, narrowed terminally. Apophysis anterioris as long as posterioris. Ostium bursae wine glassshaped; postvaginal plate rectangular, relatively long, slightly narrowed near ostium bursae. Corpus bursae long, sackshaped, membranous, granulated on entire surface; signum absent. Ductus bursae extremely short, poorly defined; ductus seminalis narrow, arising from middle of ductus bursae. Abdomen ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 10 – 11 ) with upper liplike sclerotized part on each segment 2 to 7.

Distribution. Vietnam (N. Vietnam).
