(Figs 30 E-F, 31 T)
Material examined: Lombardia: I TG 13-06a 2/2/1 slide.
Remarks: From a revision of material reported under this name from Sardinia ( Gerecke 2014b) results that the specimens in question represent in fact an undescribed species (described below as A. castor sp. nov.). As the specimens from Corsica and Sardinia were mostly reported from spring habitats, while A. allgaier lives in middle order streams, this observation is consistent with its habitat preference. The collecting site in Lombardia has now in fact produced the first ascertained Italian record of the species.
Habitat: Rhithrobiont.
Distribution: West Palaearctic.
