Material examined: Calabria: I 106, 0/1/0 slide; I 419, 0/1/0 slide; Lombardia: I TG 13-06a, 1/0/0; I TG 15-04a, 0/1/0; Sicilia: Northern Mountains. I 132, 0/1/0 slide; I 177, 0/1/0 slide; I 593 Int 1, 1/0/0 slide; I 646, 0/1/0 slide; I 1078 a, 0/1/0 slide; I 1079 a, 0/2/0 slide; I 1138 Int, 1/1/0 (0/1/0 slide); I dp 41, 0/1/0 slide; I dp 57, 1/0/0 slide; I dp 67, 0/4/0 slide; I dp 85, 0/3/0 (0/2/0 slide). 13 sites (numbers 1078, 1079, 1138 representing the same site), 21 specimens – only three males.

Previously published records from Italy: Piemonte ( Schwoerbel 1961); Sicilia ( Ferrito 1994, Gerecke 2003).

Habitat: Rhithrobiont, in low to middle order streams, mostly at middle altitude, 220-1200 m, most records from stream benthos, two from interstitial, two from weakly seeping springs.

Distribution: Central and Southern Europe, scattered.
