Barsine kishidai Volynkin & Černý View in CoL , sp. n.

( Figs 141, 142 View FIGURES 141–151 , 216 View FIGURES 215–218 , 269 View FIGURES 265–270 )

Type material. Holotype ( Figs 141 View FIGURES 141–151 , 216 View FIGURES 215–218 ): ♂, [The Philippines] Mindanao , Mt. Tagubod, I.1997, via Sato, ex coll. A. Schintlmeister, slide MWM 33676 (♂) Volynkin (Coll. MWM/ ZSM).

Paratype: ♀, same data as in the holotype, slide MWM 33677 (♀) Volynkin (Coll. MWM/ ZSM) .

Diagnosis. Forewing length is 14.5 mm in male and 15 mm in female. Barsine kishidai sp. n. is similar externally to B. visaya sp. n. but differs by its larger size and medial line being less curved at anal wing margin. The male genitalia of B. kishidai sp. n. are similar to those of B. rhipiptera , but differ by the vinculum being rectangular apically (that is rounded apically in B. rhipiptera ), the narrower valva, the smaller medial costal process, the less curved distal costal process, the much shorter distal membranous lobe of valva, the narrower cluster of cornuti on the medial diverticulum, the shorter ventral subdiverticulum of the medial diverticulum, and the globular subbasal ventral diverticulum (that is conical and narrower in B. rhipiptera ). The female genitalia of B. kishidai sp. n. differ from those of B. rhipiptera by their antrum being slightly broader anteriorly, broader postero-lateral sclerotized area of corpus bursae, and larger appendix bursae.

Distribution. The Philippines (Mindanao Island).

Etymology. The species name is dedicated to Dr. Yasunori Kishida (Tokyo, Japan), a famous expert in Noctuoidea taxonomy.
