Diagnosis. Forewing length is 10.5–11.5 mm in males and 11.5–12 mm in females. Externally, B. fasciata is very similar to B. nigralba , but differs by the narrower medial and antemedial line and spots of subbasal area, the much shorter dentation of the postmedial line (that on veins M 1 and Cu 2 is sometimes almost completely reduced in B. fasciata ), and the narrower longitudinal strokes on veins in the submarginal area of hindwing. The male genitalia of B. fasciata are very similar to those of B. nigralba and differ by the distally narrower valva, narrower vesica and slightly smaller cornuti in vesica only. The female genitalia of B. fasciata differ from those of B. nigralba by the much larger, arrowhead-shaped signum (that is elliptical with a medial concavity B. nigralba by), and the slightly larger appendix bursae.
Distribution. South China (Sichuan, Hainan), North Thailand and North Vietnam. The record for India ( Černý & Pinratana 2009) is erroneous. Records of B. fasciata for South Vietnam (Volynkin & Černý 2016) and the Thai- land’s provinces of Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai and Saraburi ( Černý & Pinratana 2009) belong to B. nigralba .
