Remarks. The genus can be diagnosed by having a size of 5–16 mm long; 12 segments; presence of ommatidia; prefemorite, femorite and sometimes tibia of telopods with trichosteles; femorite and tibia each also with a large process; those processes, especially on femorite, large and apically differentiated ( Enghoff et al. 2015).

The genus currently contains more than 120 species, which are distributed across the Eurasian continent, from the Balkans in the west to Japan in the east, and to Sulawesi in the south ( Enghoff et al. 2015; Likhitrakarn et al. 2024b).
