Distribution. Australia- NE Qld. Elsewhere SE Asia – Brunei, peninsular Malaysia, New Guinea, Indonesia (Sulawesi) ( Martin, 1999).
Hosts. LAURACEAE : Persea sp. ( Martin, 1999); P. americana ( Evans, 2006) ; Undet. sp. (QDPIF). BURSERACEAE : Canarium sp. ( Martin, 1999). MYRTACEAE : Syzygium sp. ( Martin, 1999). PIPERACEAE : Piper sp. ( Martin, 1999).
Comments. Martin (1999) recorded one sample as the then sole Australian representative of this species. QDPIF has samples of this species taken in collections from Torres Strait Islands. Often found with both dark and pale coloured puparia together, this species is characterized by the vasiform orifice which is found on a conspicuously elevated extension (see Fig. 66 View FIGURES 65 – 68. A ).
