Definition

Solid shells, sub­ovate elongate in outline with a cleft posterior sulcus and weak escutcheon. Hinge teeth lacking, ligament sunken. Anterior adductor scar greatly elongate almost half the length of the shell. Ctenidium with two demibranchs these thickened with extended interlamellar extensions, lateral body pouches very large, foot vermiform, heel obsolete, toe developed. Anatomical data from Nakazima (1958) and Kamenev et al. (2001).
