Type material: Holotype, male, BRAZIL: Ribeirão Preto–SP, Mata de Santa Tereza—Estação Ecológica de Ribeirão Preto. 27.xi.2009. E.A. Nascimento & C.M. Polegatto, col. ( DZUP) . Paratype, male, BRAZIL: Ribeirão Preto–SP, Mata de Santa Tereza—Estação Ecológica de Ribeirão Preto. 14.xi.2008. E.A. Nascimento & C.M. Polegatto, col. ( DZUP) .
Diagnosis: Antennomere 5 long, 1.8× longer than 4 and 1.5× longer than antennomere 3. Elytra yellow, with apical 1/3 and sutural stripe in basal 1/3 (between suture and primary costa 1) brown ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 4–10 ). Aedeagus with distal subhemispherical expansion, junction between base of phallus and phallobase elongate and narrow, suspensorial arms thin ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 15–17 A-C).
Description: Pronotum yellow with median brown subtriangular patch. Elytra yellow, apical 1/3 and sutural stripe in basal 1/3 (intercostal interval between suture and primary costa 1) brown ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 4–10 ). Trochanter and basal half of femur yellow.
Eye diameter 1.8× longer than interocular distance. Antennomere 5, 1.8× longer than 4 and 1.5× longer than antennomere 3. Maxillary palpomere 2 about 3× longer than 3 and 1.5× longer than 4. Pronotum subpentagonal, widest at basal margin, lateral margins concave, basal margin hardly bisinuous, median longitudinal carina presenting areola at posterior half. Pronotum 1.1× larger than long medially. Prosternum and mesosternum trapezoidal. Elytra 3.9× longer than humeral width, presenting mostly irregular subrectangular cells. Femur as long as tibia, 3.6× longer than trochanter length. Attachment of femur to trochanter hardly oblique. Abdominal ventrite VII with shallow median distal emargination, abdominal ventrite VIII elongate, rounded apically and pointed basally. Aedeagus with phallus widened in basal 2/5–3/5 and apex bent in right angle to right in dorsal aspect, narrowing before distal subhemispherical expansion ( Fig. 16A, B View FIGURES 15–17 ). Phallobase elongate, with short lateroapical thorns and thin suspensorial arms. Junction between base of phallus and phallobase elongate and narrow ( Fig. 16A, C View FIGURES 15–17 ). Body length: 6.6–7.2 mm, humeral width: 1.4–1.7 mm
Etymology: the species is named after Cleber M. Polegatto, first author’s friend and loyal field trip partner.
Distribution: Brazil (Southeast region, São Paulo state, Ribeirão Preto municipality, Ribeirão Preto Ecologic Station) ( Fig. 18 View FIGURE 18 ).
