Etymology. The species bears the name of the type locality, Tourmaline, Puerto Rico, a reef system, 14 km west of the city of Mayagüez.

Remarks. Cumella tourmalinae sp. nov. is similar to C. manolelii Petrescu, Chatterjee & Schizas, 2013 also from La Parguera, Puerto Rico ( Petrescu et al., 2013), in having three dorsal denticles on the carapace and the uropod with four setae on the peduncle and two on the endopod. Cumella tourmalinae sp. nov. can be easily differentiated from C. manolelii in having a smooth ventral margin of the carapace compared to a serrate ventral margin in C. manolelii . Other differences between C. tourmalinae and C. manolelii include: ocular lobe with six instead of five lenses; longer siphon; less setae on carapace; pereopod 1 with longer carpus; pereopod 2 with longer dactylus; higher ratio of peduncle vs. last pleonite, 1.4 vs. 1.13.

Etymology. The species is named multisetosa for the numerous terminal setae on the anterior margin of the pseudorostrum.

Remarks. Cumella multisetosa sp. nov. resembles C. croixensis sp. nov. in having one denticle on the dorsal margin of carapace, six lenses on the ocular lobe, carapace with serrate ventral margin, and serrate anterior ventral corner. The present new species can be easily differentiated from C. croixensis in having numerous terminal setae on the anterior margin of the pseudorostrum while C. croixensis has a serrate anterior margin of the pseudorostrum with no setae. Other differences include more setae on maxilliped 3 and pereopods; three setae on medial margin of uropodal peduncle in C. multisetosa vs. none in C. croixensis ; uropodal peduncle longer than last pleonite in C. multisetosa vs. shorter in C. croixensis .
