Ariadna multispinosa Bryant, 1948: 339 View in CoL (♀ holotype from Loma Rucilla [19°02'40"N; 70°57'28"W], Pico del Yaque, 8‒10,000 ft, San José de las Matas, Santiago, Dominican Republic, VI.1938, Darlington leg., deposited in MCZ 22224, examined. Paratype: 1 imm. from Cordillera Central, near Valle Nuevo [18°48'N; 70°41'W], rain forest, 6000ft, Dominican Republic, VIII.1938, Darlington leg., deposited in MCZ 46064, examined).— Beatty (1970: 474).— World Spider Catalog (2018).

Diagnosis. Ariadna multispinosa is similar to A. aurea n. sp. due to the macrosetae pattern of the tibiae I‒II of females with the presence of 8 or more pairs of macrosetae in the tibiae I‒II ( Fig. 40C‒D View FIGURE 40 ),differing from it by the presence of sinuous lobes with extremities with opposite directions and DL narrowed ( Fig. 40E‒F View FIGURE 40 ).

Description. Male. Unknown.

Female (Holotype). Carapace and chelicerae brownish orange ( Fig. 40A View FIGURE 40 ). Endites orange; labium dark orange. Sternum orange with darker margins ( Fig. 40B View FIGURE 40 ). Palps orange, gradually darkening to distal direction. Legs orange with pairs I‒II darker ( Fig. 40C‒D View FIGURE 40 ). Abdomen grey, darker dorsally ( Fig. 40A‒B View FIGURE 40 ). Total length 9.0; carapace 3.8 long, 2.6 wide. Carapace with cephalic region elevated. Chelicerae projected ( Fig. 40A‒B View FIGURE 40 ). Legs: robust and coated with setae; legs I‒II with ventro-prolateral and ventro-retrolateral tibial and metatarsal macrosetae of different sizes ( Fig. 40C‒D View FIGURE 40 ). Leg formula: I-II-IV-III. Leg measurements: I, femur 2.95, patella 1.25, tibia 2.2, metatarsus 1.95, tarsus 0.55, total 8.9; II, 2.7, 1.25, 2.2, 1.85, 0.6, 8.6; III, 2.15, 1.1, 1.4, 1.35, 0.6, 6.6; IV, 2.5, 1.35, 1.9, 1.65, 0.65, 8.05. Macrosetae: I, femur D0-0-0-0-0-1-0, P0-0-0-1-1-1-0; tibia vp1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-0-1- 1, vr1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1; metatarsus vp1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1, vr1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 ( Fig. 40C‒D View FIGURE 40 ); II, femur D0- 0-0-0-0-1-0; tibia vp1-0-1-1-1-1-1-1-0-1, vr1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1; metatarsus vp1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1, vr1-1-1-1-1-0-1-1; IV, metatarsus vr metatarsal comb with 4 macrosetae.
