Type material. Holotype: male ( RMNH), Diamond Cave [8°04'01.34ʺN, 98°54'59.11ʺE], Krabi Province, Thailand, 3 January 1989, C.L. Deeleman-Reinhold leg. Paratype: 1 female, same data as holotype.
Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin word “anguis”, meaning “snake”, and refers to the snake-shaped embolus; adjective.
Diagnosis. This new species is similar to T. strentarsi (see Lin & Li, 2010), but can be distinguished by the presence of six eyes, the snake-shaped embolus ( Figs 4 View FIGURE 4 A–B, 5A–B) in the male, and the long, tube-shaped, spiral spermatheca ( Figs 4 View FIGURE 4 C, 7A–B) in the female.
Description. Male (holotype). Total length 1.10. Prosoma 0.50 long, 0.45 wide. Opisthosoma 0.56 long, 0.61 wide. Sternum 0.29 long, 0.26 wide. Prosoma and legs, yellowish; sternum, labium, and endites yellow. Six eyes. Chelicerae ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 D) longer than endites, yellow, with two teeth and four denticles on the promargin, and five small teeth on the retromargin. Palp and leg measurements: palp 0.46 (0.12, 0.04, 0.09, –, 0.21); I 3.02 (0.90, 0.15, 0.95, 0.60, 0.42); II 2.72 (0.85, 0.15, 0.80, 0.50, 0.41); III 1.97 (0.64, 0.14, 0.45, 0.39, 0.35); IV 2.51 (0.84, 0.14, 0.70, 0.47, 0.36). Leg formula: I-II-IV-III. Male palp ( Figs 4 View FIGURE 4 A–B, 5A–B): bulb oval, whitish; embolus snake-shaped, as long as bulb. Opisthosoma oval, whitish, covered with long setae.
Female (paratype). Similar to male in coloration and general features, but with a smaller body size and shorter legs. Total length 1.05. Prosoma 0.44 long, 0.40 wide. Opisthosoma 0.46 long, 0.65 wide. Sternum 0.25 long, 0.25 wide. Palp and leg measurements: palp 0.50 (0.15, 0.06, 0.12, –, 0.17); I 2.70 (0.85, 0.15, 0.80, 0.50, 0.40); II 2.36 (0.72, 0.14, 0.70, 0.45, 0.35); III 1.63 (0.51, 0.13, 0.44, 0.30, 0.25); IV 2.28 (0.70, 0.15, 0.64, 0.44, 0.35). Leg formula: I-II-IV-III. Compared with other congeners, the genital area ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 C) modified with a lipshaped projection over epigastric furrow.
