9. Limonium palmare View in CoL group.―The species in this group are glaucous, and the plants are densely covered with crateriform glands. Their stems are rigid, with few or no sterile branches. The leaves are fleshy and rigid, and arranged in terminal rosettes. The spikes are long. Those species that have been karyologically examined have an aneuploid chromosome number of 2n = 34. Several rare species with punctiform distributions belong to this group, such as L. palmare from Naxos, L. parosicum from Naxos and Paros, and L. contractum and L. pusillum both from Astypalaia.
