Length. Male: 3.3–3.5mm; female: 3.6–4.0mm.

Ochraceous. Vertex with sinuate dark brown band on antero-lateral margin and orange or brown longitudinal band each side of midline extending to scutellum ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4. D A; Plate I: E); frontoclypeus with fuscous arcs. Pronotum stramineous with two orange or brown longitudinal bands on each side in addition to those continuing from vertex; scutellum stramineous ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4. D A; Plate I: E). Leg marked with brown. Forewing with cells embrowned, veins paler (Plate I: E).

Forewing macropterous, inner anteapical cell open basally. Sternal apodemes at base of abdomen long with rounded apices ( Fig. 4D View FIGURE 4. D ).

Male genitalia. Subgenital plate broadly triangular ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4. D C); style preapical lobe short, apophysis digitate, slightly laterally curved ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4. D E); aedeagal shaft short and robust, distinctly broad basally, strongly curved dorsally at apical 0.33, apex directed cephalad and strongly notched ( Figs 4 View FIGURE 4. D G, 4H).

Female genitalia. Hind margin of seventh sternum as in Plate V: C and Plate VI: C.

Remarks. This species is closely related to vulgaris , but differs in the broadly triangular subgenital plate ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4. D C) and in having the apex of the aedeagus directed cephalad ( Figs 4 View FIGURE 4. D G, 4H).

Etymology. This name is based on the hooked apex of the aedeagus.
