Prolygus loriae ( Poppius, 1914) View in CoL
( Fig. 47 View Figs 43–53 )
Prolygus loriae Poppius, 1914: 352 View in CoL (original description). Prolygus loriae: CARVALHO (1987) View in CoL :145 (new combination, redescription).
Distribution. Papua New Guinea ( CARVALHO 1987).
Comments. Carvalho’s redescription and illustrations ( CARVALHO 1987) suggest that this species is doubtlessly a member of Prolygus and in all likelihood appears to be a sister taxon of P. papuanus ; each species has two distinct, elongate lobal sclerites on the endosoma. Based on an image of the holotype male taken by the second author in 1986 ( Fig. 47 View Figs 43–53 , ZMUF), P. loriae is distinct in having the pale, rather polished dorsum with largely darkened scutellum and posterior half of corium.
