Diagnosis (from Tan & Artchawakom, 2017). Maxillary palpus with extremely short apical segment, much shorter than subapical (fourth) segment. Pronotum with deep lateral lobe (but some species with rather shallow lateral lobe) and a large humeral sinus, combined with largely open thoracic foramen, usually covered by the lateral pronotal lobe. Subanal plate ( Karny, 1924, 1926; Gorochov, 2016) [also known as yoke of the ultimate tergite ( Hebard, 1922)] present (Jin, 1995).
