Type locality. Cameroon, Lolodorf.

Type material. Holotype ♂: CAMEROON: “SO Camerun, Lolodorf, L. Conradt 1895” ( DEI), “ Holotypus Thyreocephalus camerunensis sp. nov., Janák & Bordoni det. 2015”

Description. Body length 12.5 mm; length from anterior margin of head to posterior margin of elytra: 6 mm. Head and pronotum shiny, with micro-punctation. Head black; pronotum, elytra and abdomen reddish brown; antennae brown, legs reddish brown ( Fig. 183 View FIGURES 183 – 188. 183, 184 ). Head and pronotum and related punctation as in Figs. 184 View FIGURES 183 – 188. 183, 184 , 223 View FIGURES 223 – 227 ; labrum as in Fig. 224 View FIGURES 223 – 227 . Elytra sub-rectangular, with sub-rectilinear and sub-parallel sides, shorter and slightly wider than pronotum, with rounded humeral angles. Surface with distinct, fine, spaced punctation, arranged in three series, one near suture, one median and one lateral. Abdomen with fine and very dense, transverse micro-striation and fine and deep punctation, arranged in several series.

Male.Tergite 10 and sternite 9 of male genital segment as in Figs. 225, 226 View FIGURES 223 – 227 . Aedeagus ( Fig. 227 View FIGURES 223 – 227 ) 1.7 mm long, ovoid, with narrow, sub-triangular median lobe; parameres long; inner sac very narrow, sub-rectilinear.

Etymology. The specific epithet refers to Cameroon.

Differential diagnosis. Thyreocephalus camerunensis sp. nov. differs from the similar T. atlanticus in distinctly punctate disc of head and in the aedeagus with narrower median lobe and longer parameres.

Distribution. The species is known from Cameroon only ( Fig. 206 View FIGURE 206 ).
