All precendent type specimens are labelled “ Thyreocephalus mokaensis (Bh.) , Bordoni det. 2006”. 2 ♀: “Is. Fernando Poo, Moka, II.1902, 1300–1500 m, L. Fea”, “ Eulissus mokaensis Brh., Cotypus ” ( FMNH).These two specimen were labelled “ Paralectotypus Eulissus mokaensis Bh., Janák & Bordoni des. 2014” and “ Thyreocephalus mokaensis Bh., Janák & Bordoni det. 2014”.

It is identical to T. mokaensis . The label “ Thyreocephalus mokaensis Bh., Janák & Bordoni det. 2014” was attached to the specimen.

Thyreocephalus semirufus . Holotype ♂: GABON: “Belinga 29, 23.1.63, H. Coiffait”, “Mission biologique, au Gabon, P. P. Grassé Directeur”, “ Holotype ”, “ Thyreocephalus , semirufus Coiff., H. Coiffait 1967 ” ( MNHNP). All these specimens are labelled also “ Thyreocephalus mokaensis (Bh.) , Janák & Bordoni det, 2014”.

Additional material examined. FERNANDO PO: 1 spec.: Fernando Poo Is., Basilé, 400–600 m, viii– ix.1901, L. Fea ( ABFI).

Redescription. Body length 10–11 mm; length from anterior margin of head to posterior margin of elytra: 4.8– 5.8 mm. Head black, pronotum reddish brown, elytra yellowish red, abdomen reddish brown, antennae dark brown; legs light brown (Fig. 170). Body shiny. Head and pronotum with micro-punctation. Head and pronotum and related punctation as in Figs. 171, 207; labrum as in Fig. 208 View FIGURES 207 – 211 . Elytra narrow, dilated posteriad, longer and wider than pronotum, with less marked humeral angles. Surface with fine and sparse punctation, arranged in three series, one near suture, one median and one lateral. Abdomen with fine, transverse micro-striation and fine, deep, not sparse punctation.

Male. Tergite 10 and sternite 9 of male genital segment as in Figs. 209, 210 View FIGURES 207 – 211 . Aedeagus ( Fig. 211 View FIGURES 207 – 211 ) ovoid, 1.95 mm long, with sub-triangular median lobe; parameres symmetrical; inner sac very narrow and long, folded on itself several times, covered with little scales.

Differential diagnosis. Thyreocephalus mokaensis differs from the similar T. burgeoni in the densely punctured disc of head and short median lobe of the aedeagus.

Distribution. The species is distributed in Cameroon, Fernando Po Island and Gabon ( Fig. 206 View FIGURE 206 ).

Remarks. As the superior line of pronotal hypomeron is turning downwards well before middle, joining or almost joining inferior line next to front margin of procoxae and continuing onto anterior margin of pronotum, the species was transferred from Eulissus to Thyreocephalus .
