Viseu (municipality) – Silgueiros (parish) – Póvoa Dão. 40° 32' 59.79" N, 7° 56' 38.51" W [Google Earth], 20-September-2009 (Malaise trap), 1 specimen, Jorge Almeida leg. ( CJM) GoogleMaps .
A species with a Northern Mediterranean and Central European distribution, occurring from the Iberian Peninsula, Southern Germany and Austria to Israel [ Kameneva & Greve, 2011]. It has been recorded in the provinces of Barcelona, Cadiz and Salamanca in Spain [ Carles-Tolrá & Kameneva, 2008]. This is the first record for Portugal.
C. rufipes was found when the author was packing up the Malaise trap. The ulidiid was climbing up the black fabric of the malaise. In a letter to the author, Elena Kameneva noted that there are about 20–25 C. rufipes specimens in the main European collections, mostly old.
