Guarda (municipality) – Manteigas (parish) – Manteigas. 18-June-1999, 1 male, J.M. Grosso-Silva leg. ( CMCT) [ Carles-Tolrá & Kameneva, 2008] .
Santarém (municipality) – Constância (parish) – Constância. 15-September-2010, 39º 28' 27,3'' N, 8º 20' 24,6'' W [Google Earth], not collected. Confirmation through photographic proof provided by João Coelho [ Beuk, 2011a] GoogleMaps .
A species with a mostly western Palearctic distribution [ Kameneva & Korneyev, 2006]. This is the second record for Portugal and new for Santarem district. The fly was observed under Fomes sp. fungus by João Coelho, who only took photos, which were later identified by the author as M. octopunctata .
