Edessa rufomarginata (De Geer, 1773)

( Fig. 3C View FIGURE 3 )

Distribution. North America, Central America, South America.

Examined material. 21.IV.2018 (3 ♂, 3 ♀), 09.VI.2018 (6 ♂, 6 ♀), 13.VII.2018 (15 ♂, 7 ♀), 10.VIII.2018 (21 ♂, 15 ♀).

Comments. Edessa rufomarginata is a large pentatomid, measuring from 14 to 20 mm in length, distributed throughout the New World ( Silva et al. 2004). At least six morphs are known, mainly regarding overall body coloration ( Silva et al. 2004). The specimens collected by us are consistent with morph one of Silva et al. (2004). The immature stages ( Fortes & Grazia 1990), phenology, behavior and trophobiosis ( Silva & Oliveira 2010; Silva & Fernandes 2016) of E. rufomarginata have been described. Edessa rufomarginata has been recorded feeding on several host plants, mainly on cultivated Solanaceae (e.g., tobacco, eggplant, potato, and tomato) ( Silva et al. 2004). In the Catimbau, we have collected E. rufomarginata in Solanum spp.
