Distribution. Brazil (Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso), French Guiana, Venezuela.
Comments. New record of this genus and this species in French Guiana. Becker & Grazia (1977) wrote about the specimen they recorded as Podisus sp.: “could not be ascribed to any species already described for the genus”. It was true, at this time it was an undescribed new species, described later in the new genus Tyrannocoris by Thomas (1992). This species was not attracted by LED light traps but only UV-MV light traps.
