Material examined. Ex Aramus guarauna (Linnaeus) ( Gruiformes : Aramidae ): 1 male and 2 females, Dept. Valle del Cauca: Cali, Pance, 1030 m, 3 March 1972, coll. J.I. Borrero, UV No. 3751.
Hosts and distribution. This species was described ex Aramus guarauna (Linnaeus) (as A. scolopaceus ) from Bolivia (El Beni), Argentina (Salta, Buenos Aires), Surinam (Paramaribo), Paraguay (Presidente Hayes), Haiti, Mexico (Veracruz), and the USA (Florida) ( Gaud & Atyeo 1996).
