Distigmesikya blakei Atyeo, Gaud and Pérez, 1984

Hosts and distribution. This species was described ex Ara chloropterus (Gray) ( Psittaciformes : Psittacidae ) from Colombia (Dept. Arauca, Río Arauca; Dept. Antioquia, Puerto Valdivia, Cuturú) and Venezuela (Zulia), with additional material ex Ara macao (Linnaeus) from Panama ( Isla de Coiba), Venezuela (Amazonas), and Surinam (Zuid River) (Atyeo et al. 1984). This mite has never been recollected since the original description.

Hosts and distribution. This species was described ex Ara severus (Linneaus) (as Ara severa castaneifrons ) ( Psittaciformes : Psittacidae ) from Colombia (Dept. Putumayo, San Antonio), from the same host (as Ara severa severa ) from Venezuela (Zulia) and Brazil (Para), with additional material ex Primolius couloni (Sclater) (as Ara couloni ) from Peru (Cuzco, Huanuco) (Atyeo et al. 1984). This mite has never been recollected since the original description.
