Hosts and distribution. This species was collected ex Tangara arthus aurulenta (Lafresnaye) ( Passeriformes : Thraupidae ) from Colombia ( Philips & Fain 1991).

Remark. This mite was recorded as “near pari Fain” but has never been formally described ( Philips & Fain 1991).
