( Figs. 4 View FIGURES 2 – 4. 2 , 7, 15, 21 View FIGURES 5 – 22 , 31–32 View FIGURES 23 – 33 )
Type material. Holotype, male, CHINA, Hainan isl., Jianfenling, 18°44'8.34"N 108°52'6.59"E; 900 m; 10. May 2011, leg. V. Kubecek; paratype: female, CHINA, Hainan isl, Jianfenling; 18°44'23.90"N 108°51'28.07"E; 865 m; 11.5.2011, leg. V. Kubecek.
Differential diagnosis. Ochinoeus hainanensis resembles O. xunyanbaensis in general appearance, but the primary elytra costae of O. hainanensis are yellow to brown in contrast to dark brown secondary and transverse costae, while entire elytra of O. xunyanbaensis are brown. Pronotal fronto-lateral carinae in O. hainanensis are weaker than in O. xunyanbaensis . These species also differ in the shape of the phallus, which is slender apically in O. xunyanbaensis and widely rounded in O. hainanensis ( Figs. 29–32 View FIGURES 23 – 33 ).
Description. Adult. Body ~ 9 mm long, elongate, 4.1 times longer than width at humeri ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 2 – 4. 2 ), covered with short, light pubescence; body, head, antennae and legs dark brown, covered with short pubescence; elytra lighter brown, pronotum light brown at margins, darker in middle part. Head small, with hemispherically prominent eyes, interocular distance 1.04 times maximum eye diameter in male, 1.23 times in female. Antennomeres 3–10 flabellate in male, serrate in female; antennomere 3 0.95 times width at apex ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 5 – 22 ); apical antennomere slender, lanceolate in both sexes. Pronotum flat, slightly trapezoidal, 1.5 times wider at posterior angles than long at midline. Carinae delimit seven areolae, fronto-lateral carinae missing in anterior part, lateral carinae weak to inconspicuous ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 5 – 22 ). Elytra slender, parallel-sided, widest posteriorly, 3.6 times longer than combined width at humeri, each elytron with four primary costae; secondary costae weakly marked at humeri and apical part of elytra, missing in middle part ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 5 – 22 ). Male genitalia widest in apical third, with widely rounded apex, internal sac with weakly sclerotized, short, apical thorns ( Figs. 31–32 View FIGURES 23 – 33 ). Female genitalia with slender coxites and short valvifers, which are about 0.6 length of coxites, glandular lateral ducts slightly sclerotized basally.
Measurements. BL 8.9–9.1 mm, EL 8.0 mm, WH 2.2 mm, PL 1.2–1.3 mm, PW 1.8–1.9 mm, Ediam 0.52– 0.60 mm, Edist 0.62–0.64 mm.
Distribution. China: Hainan Island, known only from the type locality.
Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the name of the type locality.
