Tribe OTTISTIRINI View in CoL
Defined by characteristic T-shaped scrobes, the horizontal bar consisting of a short groove directed towards forehead and another in line with it directed towards sides of epistome, the vertical bar longer, directed a little obliquely downwards to gular angle. In female, the genital pocket or ovipositor consisting of long, slender, rather weakly pigmented distal hemisternites, these extending well beyond vulva (much like those of the Mandalotus group of genera), ending with a few long, strong setae instead of styli; proximal hemisternites unpigmented, making up roughly onehalf of the ovipositor. The horizontal bar of the T-shaped scrobes allows the adult, when active, to direct the scape forward, and backward over the forehead.
